Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one of the following: mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality systems and/or technical supplier management.
  • Continuous Improvement experience (Six Sigma, Lean practices, Kaizen, Value Stream, Agile, etc.)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and translate the technical data package to suppliers
  • Conduct supplier engagements related to capability, capacity, opportunity and risk
  • Perform technical evaluations in support of cost and price analysis
  • Manage supplier requests for product and process changes
  • Manage non-conforming product
  • Drive root cause and corrective action
  • Prioritize and execute improvement opportunities
  • Communicate the technical health of our suppliers to stakeholders
  • Support domestic travel as need (Approx 25%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Manufacturing Engineering in a manufacturing / factory environment is strongly preferred
  • Active DoD clearance
  • Experience with any of the following commodities: energetics, propulsion, machining and or castings
  • Experience influencing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience performing supplier assessments
  • Experience working with multiple suppliers/vendors at the same time
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated planning and follow through experience (able to create a roadmap linking metrics to actions and generating implementation plans)
