Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; or 1 year with a PhD
- An additional 4 years of relevant experience can be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science degree.
- Experience with Firewall, VPN, switch, and router configuration
- Experience with configuration and management of Cisco, Palo Alto, or Arista network appliances
- Experience with IT Infrastructure Management/Monitoring Tools (e.g.,WhatsUpGold, Splunk, SolarWinds) and Techniques
- Experience with authentication and data encryption methods, to include securing communications at either the datalink or network layer
- Experience with Unix, Linux and Windows environments and processes.
- Active certification at DOD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g. Security+) or greater
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain special program access as a condition of continued employment
- Must be a US Citizen
- Candidate must currently have, and be able to maintain an active/current U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance or higher.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers and technicians in a lab environment
- Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems
- Implement engineering changes to the system as required
- Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures
- Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with the peers, SMEs, and government engineers.
- Occasional travel may be required (25%)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with more than one of Cisco, Palo Alto, and Arista
- Experience with encapsulations, IP addressing and subnetting, and QoS
- Experience with virtual machines and hypervisors, such as ESXi, KVM or Hyper-V
- Experience with multiple networking protocols across client-server platforms as well as an understanding of Ethernet, HDLC, RADIUS, TCP/IP, VRF, OSPF, UDP, DHCP, and SFTP
- Experience with network configuration of NSA Encryption devices (KG175D/F/G and KG250)
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
