Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inbound volume forecasting: Analyze historical data, market trends, sales fluctuations, new product introductions to develop forecasting models to predict resource requirements (space and equipment).
  • DC space utilization: Collaborate with onsite teams and implement strategies to optimize the space utilization, efficient slotting of inbound inventory and minimize handling time. Develop and implement models to optimize warehouse slotting strategies, considering multiple variables like product velocity, product size, turnover rates, and storage requirements.
  • Product flow optimization: Design and implement methodologies to streamline the flow of products through the distribution center from receiving to shipping, minimizing bottlenecks.
  • DC throughput improvements: Analyze current throughput metrics and identify opportunities for improvement in receiving, picking, packing and shipping. Work with onsite cross functional teams to develop, automate and ideate process improvements aligned with MPS (Medtronic Performance System) objectives (e.g., – A3 problem-solving, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC methodologies).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Operations Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in operations management, preferably in a distribution environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI)
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (SAP WMS).
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in warehouse environments is preferred.
