Requirements

  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in geotechnical engineering or eight (8) years of experience plus a Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering
  • Electric utility projects experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification in one (1) state
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles related to earthwork, retaining wall, slope stability, foundation design, subsurface investigations, and geotechnical construction

Responsibilities

  • Review and seal foundation and landslide mitigation designs as assigned
  • Travel (~20%) to diagnose geotechnical issues related to electric transmission lines and substations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge/experience with SLOPE/W (or equivalent) slope stability software
  • Experience with FAD Tools, LPILE, SHAFT, GROUP, etc. foundation design software
  • Experience with Civil 3D
