Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in system-level engineering roles within the networking, optical, or cloud data center industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role, such as Field Application Engineering or Solutions Architecture
  • Deep understanding of optical transceivers (e.g., QSFP-DD, OSFP), retimers, and high-speed cable technologies (AECs, ACCs).
  • Familiarity with signal integrity concepts, SerDes tuning, link training, and compliance testing for 100G/200G/400G/800G+ links.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and ecosystems such as IEEE 802.3, OIF, and relevant MSAs (e.g., QSFP-DD, OSFP, CMIS) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting or integrating optical and electrical interconnects in a data center environment.
  • Proficient in lab tools such as BERTs, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers; scripting experience (e.g., Python) is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor products, system architectures, and related technologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain trusted relationships with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across engineering, sales, and product marketing teams.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to customer sites (primarily West Coast)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Marvell’s high-speed interconnect semiconductor solutions, including Optical DSPs, Coherent DSPs, and retimers.
  • Apply deep knowledge of how these components are integrated into optical modules and Active Electrical Cables to support system-level solutions for hyperscale data centers.
  • Build and maintain strong technical relationships with hyperscaler and cloud infrastructure customers.
  • Understand customer system requirements and deployment challenges, and align Marvell’s optical and electrical interconnect solutions to meet their needs.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor by articulating how Marvell’s semiconductor components enable differentiated performance in optical modules and AECs.
  • Guide customers through the ecosystem of OEM and module vendors using Marvell silicon, helping them understand the value proposition and system-level advantages.
  • Support design-in efforts by aligning Marvell’s technology with customer architectures and deployment goals, and drive adoption through strategic technical engagement.
  • Maintain up-to-date expertise on Marvell’s connectivity portfolio, including roadmap awareness for connectivity products.
  • Provide guidance on product selection, integration, and interoperability.
  • Deliver technical training, product briefings, and hands-on demos to customers and partners.
  • Create and maintain technical collateral including application notes, integration guides, and debug procedures.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and competitive landscape to provide strategic insights and recommendations to Marvell’s product development teams.

Preferred Qualifications
