Principal Field Application Engineer – Automotive Ethernet Software

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields and 10-15 years of related professional experience.
Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related fields with 5-10 years of experience.
Must live with San Jose Area
Relevant experience in applications engineering, board development, or system level design and architecture
Knowledge of Ethernet Transceivers, Ethernet Switching, and networking architectures.
In depth knowledge of a programming language: C or Python
In depth knowledge on device drivers, APIs etc.
Knowledge of high speed SerDes (*GMII, XFI/SFI, PCIe) protocols
Experience with schematic capture and layout tools.
Experience with lab debug equipment including oscilloscopes and network analyzers.
Strong influence and excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate efficiently (written and verbal) in a multicultural environment.

Drive and assist the sales team to win key designs with Marvell Automotive Solutions.
Assist our Sales team through preparation and delivery of technical presentations and statements of work by matching specific client business requirements with effective technical solutions.
Review customer schematics and layout.
Hands-on bring-up and debug of customer boards.
Support customer lab and field trials, proof of concepts, and Engineering studies.
Closely follow and check customer technical issues, providing remote and on-site troubleshooting.
Develop and understanding of the customer application environment and provide insightful advice.

Knowledge of Automotive MDI interfaces 100Base-T1, 1000Base-T1, NBASE-T1 (multi-gig)
Automotive EMC testing experience.
Automotive experience working with OEMs, Tier 1s, and automotive quality teams.
Have worked with functional safety analysis, FMEA, and FMEDA.
