Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or closely-related field
  • 7+ years of directly related work experience
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Deep knowledge of PCBA designs with high-speed digital interfaces (e.g. MIPI, GMSL, PCIe, 10Gbase-T, 1000base-T1, USB3)
  • Familiarity with Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulation tools (e.g. Ansys EM Suite)
  • Embedded computing and/or robotics systems knowledge
  • Product design experience
  • Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g. Altium)
  • Familiarity with using a PLM (e.g. Arena)

Responsibilities

  • Develop (document, design, simulate, test, support) digital, power, and/or mixed signal circuit boards
  • Own robot subsystems through architecture, development, and volume manufacturing
  • Oversee and/or layout circuit boards in CAD
  • Simulate, design and validate high-speed digital interfaces at the board and system level to ensure proper signal integrity
  • Mentor other team members and act as the go-to resource for high-speed digital interface design questions & problems
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose robot electrical failures to root cause
  • Author technical documentation such as specifications, schematics, test plans, and reports
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, compliance, and test teams
  • Write Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • Participate in design reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to code in C/C++, Python, and/or LabVIEW
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Expertise in Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulation tools (e.g. Ansys EM Suite)
  • Familiarity with the concepts of functional safety (e.g. IEC61508, ISO13849, IEC61511, and/or ISO26262)
  • Knowledge of circuit board manufacturing DfX and best practices
