Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or closely-related field
- 7+ years of directly related work experience
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals
- Deep knowledge of PCBA designs with high-speed digital interfaces (e.g. MIPI, GMSL, PCIe, 10Gbase-T, 1000base-T1, USB3)
- Familiarity with Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulation tools (e.g. Ansys EM Suite)
- Embedded computing and/or robotics systems knowledge
- Product design experience
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g. Altium)
- Familiarity with using a PLM (e.g. Arena)
Responsibilities
- Develop (document, design, simulate, test, support) digital, power, and/or mixed signal circuit boards
- Own robot subsystems through architecture, development, and volume manufacturing
- Oversee and/or layout circuit boards in CAD
- Simulate, design and validate high-speed digital interfaces at the board and system level to ensure proper signal integrity
- Mentor other team members and act as the go-to resource for high-speed digital interface design questions & problems
- Triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose robot electrical failures to root cause
- Author technical documentation such as specifications, schematics, test plans, and reports
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, compliance, and test teams
- Write Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Participate in design reviews
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to code in C/C++, Python, and/or LabVIEW
- Experience with Linux operating systems
- Expertise in Signal Integrity/Power Integrity Simulation tools (e.g. Ansys EM Suite)
- Familiarity with the concepts of functional safety (e.g. IEC61508, ISO13849, IEC61511, and/or ISO26262)
- Knowledge of circuit board manufacturing DfX and best practices
