Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or advanced degree desired in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Typically, 7+ years of professional experience in the relevant category.
  • Strong focus on procurement supply chain management and category management in highly technical fields.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain category-specific strategies and plans.
  • Conduct market research to identify and assess risks and opportunities.
  • Forecast demand for the highly technical category of Network & IT Infrastructure: Hardware, Cloud, Core Network.
  • Establish contract standards for the supported category.
  • Work cross-functionally to support the negotiation of key contracts in their supported category.
  • Understand and incorporate technical specifications and requirements.
  • Drive collaborative innovation with internal stakeholders, supply chain, and suppliers.
  • Interface and persuade cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
  • Engage in discourse with technical counterparts to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) using data analytics to track category and supplier performance.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop tail spend management strategies to reduce vendor proliferation.
  • Leverage technological platforms for efficient buying channel management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale initiatives, successful supplier negotiation and relationship management, and cost-saving initiatives desired.
