Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required
- Typically 10 years or more of Related Experience
- Professional registration (RA) is required
- Proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts
- Proficiency in Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required
Responsibilities
- Conducting architectural studies
- Developing design concepts and design criteria
- Preparing related reports
- Reviewing drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers
- Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
- Providing technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses
- Writing construction specifications and preparing detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
- Reviewing supplier drawings and samples, and performing technical bid analyses
- Coordinating work with engineering and construction units at project site
- Reviewing, approving, and issuing detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others
- Providing the seal and signature of a professional architect when required by statute or contract
- Providing technical guidance to lower-level Architects and Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project
- Preparing staffing estimates and execution plans
Preferred Qualifications
- Any experience with design of rail transit stations is a plus, but not required
- The ability to make presentations to clients and others is preferred
