Requirements
- 10+ years professional experience in a PR and/or Marketing position; experience with a design or professional services firm preferred; agency or journalism experience is of interest
- 3+ years of experience managing a team; remote team management is desirable
- Superior written and verbal communications skills – should be a person who can tell the firm’s story as eloquently as very experienced firm leaders
- Great collaborator who works well with senior staff and PR and communications team members to secure information that supports storytelling
- Well-versed in PR risk issues and developing scenarios to help firm leaders make decisions
- Positive, initiative-taking approach to the role
- Confident, able to communicate and work with all levels of Gensler staff, clients, and external parties
- Good organization skills and attention to details; ability to prioritize, work to tight deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
- Team player – reliable, flexible, helpful
- Relationship builder, integrator, and connector within office, region, firm, industry; seeks meaningful partnerships that align with Gensler’s strategic objectives
- Proficient with MS Office package, presentation software such as Adobe Creative Suite with additional print/digital design skills highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across the region that ties our local teams to the overall Firmwide messaging and campaigns
- Lead large-scale campaigns and events that stretch across the region
- Assist the regional PR and communications team to strategize, prioritize, and develop thought leadership content, speaking engagement opportunities, collateral, and related communication plans that address the full spectrum of media outlets
- Mentor individuals on the PR and communications teams, in both personal and professional growth
- Mentor and train key Gensler thought leaders on market engagement strategies
- Establish and maintain media relationships, at a national and regional level
- Assist local office leadership to create annual, strategic PR plans
- Provide regional oversight for non-traditional media including social media, integrated campaigns, influencer work, etc.
- Track metrics on PR reach and engagement across the region as a way to inform future strategies and tactics
- Oversee and direct award submission campaigns
