Requirements
- Doctoral degree in communication studies, journalism, political science, public administration, economics, information science, or related fields within the last three years.
- Strong record of research productivity.
- Experience managing the development, implementation, analysis, and write-up of quantitative research.
- Strong interest and involvement in civil society and democracy.
- Strong statistical skills.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with ASI Director to build a Steering Committee of scholars and other experts as thought partners and validators in developing the metrics and methodologies that will guide this research.
- Conduct research and write report for publication by the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life, including an executive summary, slides, and infographics designed for media and public awareness.
- Present findings to audiences as needed to increase public awareness of the report.
- Support ASI fundraising and grant writing efforts as needed.
- Collaborate with ASI Director to identify additional avenues for research.
- Supervise undergraduate research interns, and Graduate Research Assistants if applicable.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by ASI Director.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience convening and leading a complex, multi-faceted research effort with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with public presentations in a non-academic environment, including in front of media.
