Requirements
- Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree such as MD, Pharm.D., Sc.D., DrPH, or Ed.D.) in Data Science, Computational Social Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Health Services Research, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to acquire accurate, reproducible data
- Critical eye towards consistency, reproducibility, and the scientific method in general
- Excellent project and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills
- Advocate for safety and ethics in the workplace
- Demonstrated computing experience and knowledge, including software packages such as word processing, database applications, and spreadsheet
- Competence in both oral and written English and ability to articulate concisely and in a professional manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented interdisciplinary healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Participates in academic, didactic, and professional training provided through seminars, workshops and direct meetings with grant faculty
- Coordinates and assure development of pertinent reports and their timely delivery
- Conducts data collection, statistical analysis, and data interpretation responsibilities secondary to CMHSR grant portfolio
- Participates in grant writing, development of manuscripts and reports, and conduct of primary and secondary data analyses
- Teach (1) undergraduate or graduate level courses a semester
- Organize successful public facing programming
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Data Science Program Director, and Center for Applied Data Science and Analytics (CASDA especially those related to research training, mentoring, and interdisciplinary projects
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to using data science for social impact and addressing structural inequalities
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data visualization tools; experience with machine learning frameworks and cloud computing platforms is a plus
- Experience teaching or developing advanced courses on topics such as data ethics, algorithmic bias, and AI for social good
- Strong publication record and interdisciplinary research experience
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative research approach
