Requirements
- An earned medical degree (M.D.) or doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
- Surgical experience
- A strong interest in pursuing and conducting basic science research
- Hired candidates must provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19
Responsibilities
- The design, planning, and implementation of research experiments
- Experimentation using pre-clinical models
- Surgical intra-operative monitoring and in vitro and in vivo procedures
- Tissue dissections and the preparation of specimens for experimental assays
- Routine molecular biology assays, including immunohistochemistry and protein studies
- Isolation and purification of DNA and proteins, gene expression assays
- Primary cell and tissue culture and collection and harvest of tissue
- Reporting of results during laboratory and individual meetings with the PI and staff
- Dissemination of findings through abstracts and peer-reviewed publications
- Collaboration with other members of the laboratory and investigative team
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in quantitative and/or qualitative research
- Expertise in Otolaryngology
- Methodological expertise in research design, implementation, and analysis
