Requirements

  • 7+ years relevant experience in asset management or pension risk management
  • In-depth understanding of overlay and LDI instruments including Treasuries, corporate bonds, and derivatives
  • Demonstrated ability to operate successfully with minimal oversight
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Exercise business judgement and demonstrates strategic thinking

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for monitoring and maintenance of overlay and LDI client data in Parametric’s investment system including external portfolio and pension liability data
  • Assume role as primary portfolio management contact for a subset of client relationships to include leading client calls and performance reviews
  • Actively discuss implementation alternatives and tradeoffs based on client objectives and constraints
  • Collaborate with LDI strategy and research teams to evaluate critical inputs for LDI portfolio management, including liability cash flows, discount curves, and liability hedging asset allocation
  • Collaborate with LDI strategy and fixed income portfolio management teams to develop and support client deliverables including both standard and customized reporting and analysis
  • Provide support to distribution and investment leadership in creating materials for prospective clients or consultants
  • Provide proactive thought leadership and idea generation to include white papers and strategy illustrations
  • Identify areas to improve efficiency and risk control throughout the implementation process, including working with the development team to create investment system enhancements
  • Participate in onsite and external meetings (may require travel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Actuarial experience, certification, and/or direct involvement with pension risk management activities is preferred
  • Graduate degree and/or CFA is preferred
  • Other relevant experience includes plan sponsor staff, investment consultant, or portfolio management roles with direct experience in pension risk management
  • Experience in areas related to LDI, including fixed income strategies, overlay programs, asset-liability studies, and actuarial analysis
