Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Clinical Experience
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist – Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- Basic Life Support Certification – Default Issuing Body
Responsibilities
- Gathers and Analyzes Patient Information Testing Preparation Procedures: Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments, if necessary.
- Polysomnographic Procedures: Follows procedural protocols to ensure collection of appropriate data.
- Polysomnographic Record Scoring: Scores sleep and wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines.
- Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
- Performs routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.
- Participates in all Joint Commission mandated educational programs including, but not limited to, Infection control, Fire, Electrical and Hazard Safety programs annually.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and program information.
- Responds to study participant’s procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
