Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Accredited Sleep Technologist Education Program (A-STEP), AASM, American Academy of Sleep Medicine within 1 year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Under the mentorship of a registered technologist, performs diagnostic sleep testing, including but not limited to order interpretation, medication administration, patient hook-up and monitoring, BLS responsibility, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) initiation and titration, oxygen administration, and other related duties.
  • Documents findings / patient responses in a manner consistent with documentation guidelines.
  • Reports equipment problems to the appropriate person.
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
