Requirements

  • Expertise in cloud architecture and design, including the ability to design highly secure and scalable cloud environments.
  • Good communication skills to share security best practices, collaborate with stakeholders, and explain security concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong familiarity with at least one major cloud service provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) and a general understanding of other major cloud providers.
  • Experience with web application firewalls (WAF), DDoS and account takeover mitigation, and bot detection/prevention systems.
  • Awareness of security trends and a commitment to staying informed about emerging threats and evolving technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with various teams and departments on projects with a focus on short to mid-term goals.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse perspectives and incentives to achieve consensus among teams.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Offer security guidance to support platform security initiatives within the organization.
  • Provide expertise in platform security for initiatives related to detection & response, vulnerability management, and compliance.
  • Perform security assessments of infrastructure, identify potential threat vectors, and recommend mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions and data breaches.
  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to establish security metrics that demonstrate proficiency across various technology teams operating in the cloud.
  • Contribute to the development of automation tools to enhance application security in the cloud, facilitating faster and more accessible security enhancements.
  • Design and implement web application security solutions to protect FanDuel’s secure edge.
  • Implement and help drive remediation of vulnerabilities in our operating systems and containers.
  • Document processes associated with critical systems for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Identify and address technical debt in platform security tooling in cloud environments.
  • Work closely with development and operations teams to define and enforce platform security standards and best practices.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to maintain and improve cloud security across the organization.
