Plant Operator

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Ability to operate drill presses, saws, and other fabrication equipment
Ability to perform mathematical computations
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Operate plant equipment in accordance with established operating procedures and good manufacturing practices
Perform preventative maintenance activities
Repair equipment throughout the facility
Document maintenance activities and repairs
Monitor equipment during operation and maintain operating logs and records
Unload raw material from bulk tank trucks
Load product into bulk trucks
Replenish chemicals in polishing towers
Fill cylinders for use in electronic industry
Analyze product for conformance with detector tubes, GC and oxygen analyzer
Unload and load cylinders onto trucks
Other duties as assigned.
