Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
  • 3+ years’ experience in engineering role (capital project management and maintenance/reliability focus within the food or pharma industry)
  • Proficiency in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies
  • Experience with machine troubleshooting
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with project management software and methodologies (e.g., EcoSys)
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or other relevant certifications (e.g., PE, PMP, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
  • Knowledge of and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in Food processing industry and dry powder blending & packaging
  • Mechanical design, machine design in manufacturing systems
  • Materials Science and physical failure analysis
  • Familiarity with Electrical Engineering (motors, controls, instruments, starters, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Instrumentation, process control, SCADA & HMI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead and implement programs/systems/processes and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability/OEE (e.g., preventive and predictive maintenance systems, techniques and schedules, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, training, spare parts, etc.)
  • Defect Elimination using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) trigger points & implementing corrective and improvement plans resulting from the RCFAs.
  • Use site’s Computerized Maintenance Management system (eg: SAP ) to create or update existing maintenance plans, tasks etc. Perform PPM effectiveness assessment at appropriate frequencies. Define and setup critical spare parts to ensure they are available when needed.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics using TrakSys platform to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process bottlenecks and develop innovative solutions.
  • Work closely with the maintenance personnel and provide guidance in troubleshooting when needed.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff on reliability and process improvement initiatives.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Support mechanical shutdown activities providing input and leadership into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures.
  • Support site Process Safety Management (PSM) program by leading elements/pillars related to equipment reliability.
  • Lead capital projects from conception through execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Prepare project documentation, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
