Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- 3+ years’ experience in engineering role (capital project management and maintenance/reliability focus within the food or pharma industry)
- Proficiency in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies
- Experience with machine troubleshooting
- Experience in process improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies (e.g., EcoSys)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or other relevant certifications (e.g., PE, PMP, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
- Knowledge of and experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in Food processing industry and dry powder blending & packaging
- Mechanical design, machine design in manufacturing systems
- Materials Science and physical failure analysis
- Familiarity with Electrical Engineering (motors, controls, instruments, starters, etc.)
- Familiarity with Instrumentation, process control, SCADA & HMI.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead and implement programs/systems/processes and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability/OEE (e.g., preventive and predictive maintenance systems, techniques and schedules, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, training, spare parts, etc.)
- Defect Elimination using Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) trigger points & implementing corrective and improvement plans resulting from the RCFAs.
- Use site’s Computerized Maintenance Management system (eg: SAP ) to create or update existing maintenance plans, tasks etc. Perform PPM effectiveness assessment at appropriate frequencies. Define and setup critical spare parts to ensure they are available when needed.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics using TrakSys platform to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process bottlenecks and develop innovative solutions.
- Work closely with the maintenance personnel and provide guidance in troubleshooting when needed.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on reliability and process improvement initiatives.
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Support mechanical shutdown activities providing input and leadership into needed equipment inspection and repair procedures.
- Support site Process Safety Management (PSM) program by leading elements/pillars related to equipment reliability.
- Lead capital projects from conception through execution, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Prepare project documentation, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments.
