Requirements

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required; Masters in Accounting, MBA (Master in Business Administration) or CPA, a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management role.
  • At least 7 years in a manufacturing environment within an FDA-regulated industry, preferred.
  • Certified lean six sigma – preferred.
  • Previous life science industry experience, preferred.
  • Public company industry experience, preferred.
  • Experience in Operations/Supply Chain environment including financial reporting, cost accounting and project accounting preferred.
  • Experience with Accounting, Manufacturing and Planning Software.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience with Accounting Software, i.e. Great Plains a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change across functions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the financial leadership and sets the financial direction for the processing facilities, contract manufacturer, and distribution facility in collaboration with the VP, Operations, VP, Manufacturing, VP, Quality, and their leadership teams.
  • Influence Processing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other processing and distribution functions through budget/forecasting, capital management, financial training, financial recommendations, and general business guidance.
  • Responsible for reporting and partnering with all functions to develop and achieve Gross Margin Improvement program targets and overall financial performance. Ensuring accurate tracking of production costs, labor, materials, and overhead.
  • Manage and oversee preparation of Plan, Long range plan and rolling latest best estimates development, as well as presentations to the Executive Team. This includes standard cost setting.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory management practices, including cycle counting, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Support product launch and other key strategic programs with financial planning, reporting and analytics including detailed scenario financial builds.
  • Ensure that adequate financial and system controls are established and maintained consistent with Axogen policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. Promote and maintain compliance with all other applicable policies and procedures and external requirements.
  • Liaise with IT on system upgrades and implementation projects in the manufacturing environment. Propose system upgrades and efficiencies.
  • Lead and develop a team through coaching, counseling, training, and succession planning as well as encouraging an atmosphere of inclusion, involvement, open communication, and effective teamwork and culture of continuous improvement, accountability and professional growth.
  • Additional Financial Operations duties as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
