Requirements
- Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent)
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology.
- Completion of a Transplant Hepatology fellowship program
- Eligible for medical license in Kansas and Missouri
Responsibilities
- Provide consultative services for patients at the University of Kansas Medical Center and multiple ancillary locations.
- Evaluate and manage pre- and post-operative liver transplant patients, as well as general hepatology cases.
- Perform endoscopic procedures relevant to hepatology.
- See patients in the clinic as well as inpatient consult services.
- Participate in an on-call coverage rotation.
- Serve as a clinical educator, overseeing and mentoring internal medicine residents and medical students.
- Lead a team of trainees in delivering high-quality care to hospitalized patients.
- Provide education in core competencies based on trainee level.
- Actively participate in regular educational conferences and administrative meetings.
- Engage in scholarly activities, including supporting and participating in research initiatives related to Transplant Hepatology.
- Contribute to educational programs within the department and the University.
- Engage in quality improvement projects and academic collaborations.
