Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent)
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine/Gastroenterology.
  • Completion of a Transplant Hepatology fellowship program
  • Eligible for medical license in Kansas and Missouri

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultative services for patients at the University of Kansas Medical Center and multiple ancillary locations.
  • Evaluate and manage pre- and post-operative liver transplant patients, as well as general hepatology cases.
  • Perform endoscopic procedures relevant to hepatology.
  • See patients in the clinic as well as inpatient consult services.
  • Participate in an on-call coverage rotation.
  • Serve as a clinical educator, overseeing and mentoring internal medicine residents and medical students.
  • Lead a team of trainees in delivering high-quality care to hospitalized patients.
  • Provide education in core competencies based on trainee level.
  • Actively participate in regular educational conferences and administrative meetings.
  • Engage in scholarly activities, including supporting and participating in research initiatives related to Transplant Hepatology.
  • Contribute to educational programs within the department and the University.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects and academic collaborations.
