Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics or a related field, or 4+ years of experience with photonic integrated circuits (PICs)
- Deep understanding and practical experience across PIC workflows, from simulation and layout to experimentation and control
- High comfort level working with fiber optics, free-space optics, laser alignment
- Strong automation experience and programming in Python
- Proven track record of innovation and accomplishment, demonstrated through an established publication record in relevant journals, patents, or products.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to tape-outs and bring-up of high-performance photonic/optoelectronic systems.
- Design and simulate photonic devices and components
- Characterize PICs at the die and system level.
- Collaborate with foundry partners to advance the boundaries of photonics and quantum computing systems through iterative design-fab-test cycles.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to integrate photonic components into complete quantum computing systems.
