Requirements
- Knowledge of basic journalism and digital production techniques.
- Understanding of the use of good lighting, photographic, audio, and editing techniques as required in the production of quality news.
- Understanding of bonded cellular technology and live truck operations.
- Knowledge of iNews and desktop editing is preferred.
- Ability to successfully collaborate with other journalists.
- FAA license to operate a drone is a plus.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may require nights, early mornings, weekends, holidays, and emergency scenarios.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and maintain a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Shoot, co-produce, edit, and present images with sound for multiple platforms including television, digital, and social media.
- Conduct interviews on your own including man-on-the-street and ‘go live’ as a performer in breaking news situations.
- Simultaneously shoot video, edit, and feed raw and edited material.
- Use field lighting to produce well-lit content, as needed.
- Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.
- Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements.
- Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Shoot video for various media, including linear TV, streaming programming, social and other digital media.
- Capture video from a variety of beats and topics including, but not limited to breaking news, governmental affairs, crime, investigations, features, weather/nature, sports and/or traffic.
- Edit video using non-linear editing software (like Edius or Premiere) adhering to editorial guidelines and styles. Must meet all deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Writing and voiceover experience is desirable/preferred.
- Willingness to utilize tools and cameras to build stories for all FOX media platforms.
- Willingness and ability to travel for story assignments, including international travel, is desirable.
- Experience understanding and interpreting scanner traffic is highly preferred.
- Experience operating ENG/KU/IP vehicles and equipment is preferred.
- Experience with Sony XDCam Camera format is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.
