High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
BLS Certification, issued by American Heart Association, Required
Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred for Phlebotomist I
Twelve months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred for Phlebotomist II

Accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing
Perform specimen collection using many different techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections
Adhere to and enforce the standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations
Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family members and demonstrate empathy during every interaction
Maintain a neat and clean work area, dispose of waste appropriately, clean bench areas and equipment, restock supplies as appropriate
Participate in CODE response teams, training and mentoring new staff, specimen processing, and special projects as required by site or assigned by the team or department leader
