Responsibilities
- Accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing
- Performing specimen collection using various techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections
- Adhering to and enforcing standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations
- Communicating procedures and instructions with patients and family members
- Demonstrating empathy during interactions
- Participating in CODE response teams
- Training and mentoring new staff
- Processing specimens
- Participating in special projects
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred
- Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred
