Requirements
- Florida Registered Certified Pharmacy Technician license
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to handle difficult situations with critical thinking and professional composure
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
Responsibilities
- Works under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists providing a high level of assistance in compounding (sterile and non-sterile preparations), distribution and dispensing of medication and other pharmaceutical related supplies
- Assists pharmacy managers or designee in designing, coordinating, and implementing high quality and cost-effective pharmacy technician services
- Adheres to all policies and regulations regarding sterile compounding practice
- Maintains necessary record-keeping and training documentation pertinent to areas of responsibility
- Inspects assigned area(s) monthly for proper storage and labeling of medications and expired medications; completes necessary inspection documentation
- Promotes sense of team effort together with pharmacists and technicians
- Assists in identifying/researching problems and issues related to department budget and patient billing
- Attends educational seminars/in-services to maintain or enhance skills and competencies
- Adheres to pharmacy policies, procedures, and objectives; maintains a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment
- Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications
- Must meet and maintain current all unit specific and organizational skills/competencies, certifications/licensures, as required by the clinical area
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of Hospital experience preferred
- Sterile and non-sterile compounding experience preferred
- Knowledge of automated dispensing/storage technology preferred
