Requirements
- Age – 16 or older
- License – Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA – Additional Prescribing Authorization)
Responsibilities
- Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams including participation in the recruitment and interviewing of candidates
- Train all associates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow and ensures their execution
- Develop, assess, motivate and retain team members
- Promote Walmart’s brand to team members and customers
- Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Prof Services District Manager
- Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Store Management team and the Store Manager
- Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets
- Responsible for efficient Associates’ scheduling according to business needs
- Ongoing associate assessment and periodic performance reviews
- Developing and executing business action plans to meet corporate goals
- Developing corrective action plans based on deficiencies identified in reports or audits
- Maintaining accurate inventories in the Pharmacy by following Walmart OBWs/SOPs
- Addressing all customer complaints and resolve all customer problems to ensure excellent customer experience
- Regular care of the Pharmacy to ensure a proper appearance and hospital clean environment for associates and patients
- Maintain the professional image for the Pharmacy area as per Workstation Standardization and 6S Audit
- Cascading communication coming from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC
- Execute all programs assigned to the Pharmacy by the Prof Services team
- Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store
- Ensure that Pharmacy is open and operational during the posted business hours
- Supervise and support the OTC manager in their everyday duties and responsibilities
- Ensure excellent patient experience, locate merchandise on the sales floor
- Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders
- Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals
- Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models
- Counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products
- Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products
- Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs
- Ability to operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.)
- Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body
- Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs
