Requirements

  • Age – 16 or older
  • License – Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA – Additional Prescribing Authorization)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams including participation in the recruitment and interviewing of candidates
  • Train all associates on OBWs/SOPs and Walmart workflow and ensures their execution
  • Develop, assess, motivate and retain team members
  • Promote Walmart’s brand to team members and customers
  • Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Prof Services District Manager
  • Develop a functional and collaborative relationship with the Store Management team and the Store Manager
  • Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets
  • Responsible for efficient Associates’ scheduling according to business needs
  • Ongoing associate assessment and periodic performance reviews
  • Developing and executing business action plans to meet corporate goals
  • Developing corrective action plans based on deficiencies identified in reports or audits
  • Maintaining accurate inventories in the Pharmacy by following Walmart OBWs/SOPs
  • Addressing all customer complaints and resolve all customer problems to ensure excellent customer experience
  • Regular care of the Pharmacy to ensure a proper appearance and hospital clean environment for associates and patients
  • Maintain the professional image for the Pharmacy area as per Workstation Standardization and 6S Audit
  • Cascading communication coming from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC
  • Execute all programs assigned to the Pharmacy by the Prof Services team
  • Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store
  • Ensure that Pharmacy is open and operational during the posted business hours
  • Supervise and support the OTC manager in their everyday duties and responsibilities
  • Ensure excellent patient experience, locate merchandise on the sales floor
  • Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders
  • Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals
  • Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models
  • Counsel all patients on sold pharmaceutical products
  • Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products
  • Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs
  • Ability to operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.)
  • Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body
  • Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs
