Requirements

  • Doctor in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
  • 2-3 years Acute care hospital experience required
  • RPH – Registered Pharmacist Current State Pharmacist Licensure required
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to address issues in a tactful and timely manner with all customer groups
  • Concentration and attention to detail – often under time constraints
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high clinical quality and business appropriateness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and is able to manage multiple projects
  • Mature, credible, reliable, tolerant, and determined

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of medications through the development and implementation of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and provide consultative support
  • Monitor medication use and outcomes, implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and therapeutic efficacy
  • Provide ongoing education and training for pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards
  • Manage daily pharmacy operations, including inventory management, medication dispensing, and adherence to state and federal regulations
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of clinical interventions, medication management activities, and staff performance
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of pharmacy services, including new initiatives and technology integration
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Comply with all policies and standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years Supervisory experience preferred
