Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Valid pharmacist license in state you will be working in
  • Ability to work on site 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with rotating weekends
  • Extensive knowledge of USP 795, and 800 regulations
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a compounding pharmacy
  • Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Team player with outstanding communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the lead compounding pharmacist to ensure day to day productivity/quality metrics are met
  • Compound and supervise compounding of prescription medications. This includes mixing and packaging orders, managing inventory, and ensuring a compliant, organized working environment to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of compounded medication
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable compounding policies and procedures, and provide feedback and make suggestions for new ones as needed
  • Support audits to ensure all compounding work orders are completed accurately and within a timely manner
  • Support training of new compounding pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborate with the PIC to ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal compounding guidelines and regulations
  • Ensure good documentation practices, and that all documentation is kept accurate and up to date
  • Ensure proper inventory management, including ensuring that all appropriate paperwork is reviewed and filed
  • Supports the pharmacy in charge by collaborating for readiness for any inspections
  • Collaborates with the schedule of compounding technicians, and ensures adequate coverage for operations
  • May be asked to obtain additional non-resident pharmacist licenses to support the needs of the pharmacy
