Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- New York State RN license
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse
- BCLS certification
Responsibilities
- Responsible for proper management of wound care by treating and monitoring wounds
- Provide care that will quickly and safely heal various types of wounds
- Assess wounds to create and implement treatment plans
- Monitor infections and signs of various infections
- Clean wounds
- Collaborate with unit leadership and staff RNs to implement treatment and coach and mentor staff in wound care
- Regularly evaluate patient outcomes
- Participate in initiatives focused on improving quality and performance, such as minimizing readmission of patients
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an academic medical center, includes experience partnering with multidisciplinary teams
- Masters Degree in Nursing
- National Certification
