Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in payroll activities
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience
- Experience managing payroll for employees located across multiple states
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
- Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., Paycom, Bamboo) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance issues at the federal, state, and local levels
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and effectively resolve employee concerns
Responsibilities
- Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite policies
- Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard family-centric culture
- Lead the accurate and timely processing of the company’s payroll on a bi-week basis for 1800+ employees
- Ensure all payroll transactions are compliant with company policies and legal regulations
- Supervise and mentor payroll team members, providing guidance and support in resolving complex payroll issues
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including filing of necessary payroll-related tax forms
- Generate and review regular payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee and maintain payroll software systems, ensuring accurate data entry, system configuration, and troubleshooting of issues
- Manage payroll audits and work with external auditors to provide necessary documentation and ensure smooth audit processes
- Coordinate with HR to ensure proper deductions for benefits, taxes, and retirement plans
- Continuously evaluate and improve payroll processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and employee satisfaction
- Assist in special payroll-related projects, including system upgrades, policy changes, or benefits adjustments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working for start-ups or high growth organizations preferred
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
