Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Preferred.
- 3-6 years of experience in Payroll required.
- Experience with payroll processes and a willingness to learn and contribute to process improvements is required.
- Experience in a start-up environment or exposure to implementing a new payroll system would be beneficial.
- International payroll experience is a plus but not necessary.
- Ability to recommend solutions using independent judgment on moderately complex issues, work independently, or in a team environment.
- Possess strong customer service orientation and a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of payroll practices.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour and payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and solid Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including cooperativeness, professionalism, and customer service.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Payroll Manager in bi-weekly payroll for up to 2000 US exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring the payroll is processed promptly and accurately for employee compensation, bonuses, and equity transactions (NSO, ISO, RSU)
- Review new hires, terminations, LOA, pay, status, and title changes.
- Responsible for daily review and resolution of items submitted to payroll via email.
- Maintain ongoing effective communication and collaborative relationships with all members of the Human Resources, Benefits, Compensation, and Legal Departments to ensure the accuracy of employee data and the efficient processing of employee changes.
- Handle assigned workflow to ensure all payroll transactions entered are processed accurately and timely.
- Understand and perform all phases of the payroll process, associated processes, and audits.
- Resolves daily inboxes, escalates payroll process and policy inquiries requiring higher knowledge and refers to management for more complex matters.
- Process all aspects of assigned payrolls, including off-cycle payrolls, manual checks, time verification, new hires, rehires, terminations, tax information, benefit deductions, awards, leave of absence, relocation reimbursements, bonuses, other benefits, garnishments, child support withholding, different changes, etc., ensure posting accuracy, and handle corrections appropriately.
- Generate various reports on taxes paid, employee withholdings deductions taken, etc., to correctly record and verify payroll-related balances.
- Understand multistate taxation in the payroll system to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Assist in the completion of distribution of annual W-2 statements and request for duplicate copies (as applicable).
- Communicate with the Manager, Payroll, and/ or Senior Director on any payroll discrepancies, such as timesheet errors or requested sick and other paid time off (PTO) benefit reports (e.g., the “Hours” report).
- Responsible for maintaining SOX controls on a per-pay period basis.
- Prepare reports for accounting on a per-period basis.
