Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Structural, or other related field)
- 8+ years managing complex, multi-disciplinary, fast-paced, aerospace projects
- 5+ years industry experience in launch system or satellite operations
- Adaptable and able to lead a team through changes in a dynamic environment
- Ability to travel within U.S. and abroad
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Collaborative, constructive, positive, and concise communicator
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Responsibilities
- Conduct trade studies and estimates in support of proposals for external facing customer technical projects
- Act as a technical advisor and work closely with the engineering design team, mission management, launch operations, production, and launch systems groups to ensure the successful integration of payload requirements
- Plan and coordinate the resources necessary to successfully design, build, execute testing, and certify hardware for the Customer and Payload Accommodations team
- Review and approve design concepts, drawings, analysis, test plans, qualification plans, manufacturing and build plans, processes and procedures in support of developing flight ready hardware
- Work with design and manufacturing teams to identify and resolve technical issues and provide shipside support throughout the product lifecycle
- Review and report on monthly cost and schedule variances, corrective actions and supporting finance and schedule updates
- Provide technical and programmatic leadership by supporting staffing plans, hiring, and training plans
- Interface with payload customers to evaluate mission unique requirements and ensure compliance
- Integration of customer requirements and development of mission Interface Control Documents
- Ensure payload system requirement validation and implementation with the technical teams
- Interface with internal and external customers through the mission integration phase, and ensure customer expectations have been met
- Ensure regulatory requirements, such as FAA/ITAR/Range, have been met
- Support Business Development interactions with external customers leading to mission integration and launch contracts
- Lead spacecraft integration and launch contracts ensuring Blue Origin commitments are met on time, on budget, and with success
- Develop resource-loaded mission Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and coordinate progress with internal and external customers
- Report status updates to leadership customers, mission management, and maintain open lines of communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Top Secret clearance with current SSBI & SCI Eligibility, preferred
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, team building, and people management skills
- Experience in development of launch vehicles
- Experience in working with government customers
