Requirements
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Must currently be P.O.S.T. Certified
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Possess, or obtain a valid Colorado Drivers’ License at time of hire
- Must successfully complete requirements for Colorado Police Officer Standard training certificate
- Must pass various psychological, physical, and background examinations
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
Responsibilities
- Remain calm and respond appropriately to emergency and threatening situations; protect self and others in threatening situations; able to physically subdue and control unruly and resisting individuals
- Maintain Office proficiency standards in the use of firearms and other assigned equipment
- Safely operate a County vehicle in normal and emergency conditions
- Perform law enforcement duties requiring adequate psychological and physical condition
- Successfully complete mandatory training
- Participate in community service activities such as public service talks, PAL program, crime prevention activities, etc.
