Patient Care Technician and Certified Medical Assistant-Cardio Vascular Surgery Clinic

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
• One year of patient care experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to understand and implement a variety of detailed instructions in the execution of therapeutic procedures
• Ability to make accurate physical observation of patients
• Considerable knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy
• Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing
• Must be certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA, NAHP, or NCCT
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care
• Report to the Outpatient Clinic Manager or Nurse Manager
• Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of patient care work experience in a health care facility preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT or Paramedic certification preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a healthcare related program with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Fundamentals course at an accredited institution or equivalent training preferred
