Patient Access Scheduler

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must type 45-50 wpm
• Registration or Scheduling Experience Preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by referring physicians
• Handle a large volume of incoming calls or faxes
• Ensure patient and physician office needs are met
• Inform patients and/or physician staff of proper preparation and instructions for tests
• Identify any precerts/authorizations/referrals needed
• Maintain effective communication with patients, physician offices, and ancillary departments
• Pre-registration, creation of payment estimates, insurance verification, and benefit evaluation prior to appointment
• Retain orders for all scheduled appointments prior to service
