Requirements
- Technical School Graduate of an accredited program in paramedic science and with current state of employment license/certification required
- EMT – Emergency Medical Tech Certification EMT-P required
- PARAMEDIC – Paramedic – Licensed Licensed Paramedic with State Registry/Board required
- Health ServicesACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
- PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support required
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to develop and deliver health education and training programs
- Ability to establish strong rapport and relationships with patients and staff
- Ability to work under stressful situations
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Responsibilities
- Performs patient care tasks in a safe and competent manner without deviation from the standard of care or hospital policy and procedure
- Coordinates care with the RN and other interdisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes
- Demonstrates ability to recognize changes in patient status and report changes to RN immediately
- Assists in providing appropriate interventions in a timely manner
- Maintains complete and timely documentation that assures accurate reflection of care provided
- Provides appropriate communication with multidisciplinary team members, patients and their families
- Maintains communication with RN throughout entire shift to ensure accuracy of information and care provided
- Promptly responds to patients request for assistance in professional and effective manner
- Safely administers medications utilizing the five rights of medication administration
- Utilizes Electronic Medical Record (EMR) medication scanning to ensure safe medication administration
- Assists in facilitating throughput throughout the department
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-1 years current EMT-P experience preferred
- 0-2 years Acute Care hospital experience preferred
