Requirements
- Completion of an accredited EMS-Paramedic Training Program
- Current Florida licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (EMTP)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Clinical experience through an EMS Paramedic Training Program
Responsibilities
- Provide immediate medical treatment to patients presenting with various critical injuries, illnesses and concerns
- Maintain equipment
- Assess nature and extent of illness/injury and patient’s history from available sources
- Determine appropriate independent or collaborative response
- Administer appropriate emergency medical care, including life support procedures, decontamination protocols, obtaining EKG readings and vital statistics monitoring
- Perform fluid/drug administration as needed
- Communicate with medical personnel at hospital, report/record observations and follow directives until report and hand-off at hospital if on the Transport Team
- Navigate Ambulance to scene of accident in response to emergency call if on the Transport Team
Preferred Qualifications
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
- Current Valid Driver’s License (VDL)
- One year experience as a EMT-P
