Requirements

  • 10+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
  • Must have DoD Secret clearance and experience working in a classified environment.
  • DoD 8140 compliance; Security + certification at a minimum.
  • Experience testing, deploying, and troubleshooting the installation of Windows OS and third-party software updates.
  • Demonstrated experience with planning, configuring, deploying, and implementing automated software and firmware patching, such as WSUS, SCCM, etc., for heterogeneous operating systems environments.
  • The candidate is proficient in Windows installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Candidate demonstrates strong command-line skills and scripting abilities (PowerShell).
  • Candidate has in-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies used in secure environments.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.)
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, MCM).
  • Experience managing Windows servers in a DoD environment.
  • Experience working in a secure location managing devices on a SIPR network.
  • Experience with RMF and STIG requirements.
  • Experience with ITILv4.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • The candidate must have proficient skills in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.
  • Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be a Windows OS subject matter expert who will configure, manage, and troubleshoot OS issues ensure the proper security controls are in place.
  • You regularly collaborate with other teams and stakeholders in this role to correctly identify issues, document processes, and test resolutions.
  • Install, configure, manage, and maintain Windows OS systems in various environments (physical, virtual, cloud).
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems on servers and workstations.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and patch management.
  • Perform regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize as needed.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory.
  • Configure and manage Group Policies.
  • Implement and manage Windows Server roles and features (e.g., DNS, DHCP, file services).
  • Automate tasks using PowerShell scripting.
  • Manage and maintain Windows Update services.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Windows OS issues, ensuring minimal downtime for critical systems.
  • High-level troubleshooting of typical applications and their interactions with the underlying operating systems.
  • Maintain and manage Windows security features in compliance with DAF security protocols and government regulations.
  • Optimize Windows systems for performance, especially in high-security environments.
  • Act as an escalation point for advanced OS troubleshooting of supported servers.
  • Understanding of storage systems and backup solutions.
  • Communicate effectively and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Stay current with the latest Windows technologies and security practices relevant to government and defense sectors.
  • Document all processes, procedures, and configurations according to Program standards.
  • Performs and monitors 1st and 3rd part patching for servers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ServiceNow.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Active Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSE, MCSA).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with database administration.
  • Experience working independently to expose and resolve problems.
