Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree in a process related engineering discipline (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent in experience and education.
  • Decision making ability, planning and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage a dynamic manufacturing environment, interacting and communicating across functional lines and levels.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply Ingredion’s GMP, Quality, ISO and Safety standards.
  • Ability to train and coach others to improve performance.
  • Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the plant operation including production adherence and troubleshooting of plant processes. This includes the prioritization and organization of personnel for maintenance repairs and departmental staffing.
  • Providing guidance and advice to employees on troubleshooting equipment.
  • Leadership, promotion and administration of Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality and Employment Standards, complying with applicable corporate and regulatory requirements applicable to area of responsibility.
  • Optimization of production in compliance with product quality specifications and food safety requirements to meet production targets.
  • Providing single point of contact for off-shift information transfer within the operating units including maintenance, operations, environmental, quality and safety.
  • Serving as Plant Emergency Coordinator for the plant.
  • Pursue plant improvement initiatives, projects, and process improvements.
  • Identification of areas for improvement, proposing workable solutions to improve plant performance and follow up as appropriate.
  • Communicating production changes to operators to ensure employees understand department requirements.
  • Schedule changes for employees and arranging for callbacks in accordance with the collective agreement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Corn Refining operations and processes preferred, but not required.
  • Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers and internal stakeholders.
