Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10+ years of relevant experience with high school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in supervising an hourly workforce.
- Excellent knowledge of MS office computer software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations at the Newark facility.
- Facilitate the application of Global Manufacturing Excellence principles and tools (work instructions and procedures for safety, quality, CIL maintenance, etc.).
- Work closely with Quality / Regulatory to ensure the facility, documentation, products, and projects meet all quality and regulatory expectations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving manufacturing efficiencies, personnel health and safety, environmental goals, and gross profit margins at the Newark facility.
- Champion safety and quality while fostering Essity’s ICare culture of accountability, care, and pride.
- Monitor production metrics to respond to and resolves issues at the source.
- Manage maintenance, turnarounds, and downtime for efficiency and speed.
- Ensure safety of equipment and facilities and manage lock-out / tag-out system.
- Oversee contractors and vendors completing work on properties, ensuring accuracy to specifications.
- Support ongoing development of operators by providing clear performance expectations, specific feedback on behaviors and effective coaching and mentorship.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical device and chemical processing experience preferred.
- Experience working in a regulated industry such as ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485 preferred.
