Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures (TPM, DBS, etc.) or Master’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures (TPM, DBS, etc.)
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our “one best way” methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program
  • Build and implement the roadmap to deploy and evolve MPS to accelerate continuous improvement across the global Supply Base
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes at suppliers to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality
  • Facilitate OpEx training, workshops, and kaizen events at suppliers
  • Act as a technical SME and coach for the organization’s Green Belt and Black Belt practitioners
  • Mentor engineers and project leads on CI frameworks that are aligned with MPS and PLM standards
  • Manage portfolio of projects from concept to execution, track progress, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and implement process improvements for existing manufacturing processes at suppliers, across different commodities (Metals, Plastics, etc.)
  • Translate analytics and observations into execution roadmaps and risk-mitigation strategies for Category Managers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient and experienced in coaching and leading quantitative and qualitative assessments of OpEx effectiveness across functions
  • Strong change management, coaching, and mentoring competency
  • Ability to influence change without direct authority
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading training courses in-person or virtually, with the ability to convey and communicate complex concepts simply and clearly
  • Practical experience in applying operational excellence methods in manufacturing and transactional environments with proven process improvement and cost savings success
  • Project management skills with good time management, client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative skills
  • Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, and financial acumen with proven knowledge and experience in integrating continuous improvement
