Responsibilities

  • Perform technical analysis of the Configuration Overhaul Package (COP) by conducting on-board equipment validations and verification of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) for modernization/repair of equipment and products scheduled for installation by an Alteration Installation Team (AIT) during aircraft carrier availabilities.
  • Perform validation and verification of ILS for modernization/repair of equipment and products scheduled for installation by AIT outside of scheduled aircraft carrier maintenance availability periods
  • Perform equipment validation of data maintained in the Maintenance Readiness Assessment (MRA), Maritime System Environment (MSE) and Configuration Data Managers Database-Open Architecture (CDMD-OA) to ensure that all scheduled and emergent work associated with equipment installation are completed within two weeks after the end of the aircraft carrier maintenance availability period
  • Create work-file reports, documenting adds, changes and deletes to reflect any changes of equipment configuration through the use of CDMD-OA.
  • Conduct research for material support problems, identifying the right materials with the right NSN and APL.
  • Perform validation of work items screened to SRF-JRMC and make recommendations to keep component/system configuration valid
  • Maintain records of component/system reliability over time, to help identify potential risk and problem areas, and provide recommendations to the SRF Carrier Program Manager.
  • Maintain liaison with the Carrier Team One Industrial Material Process – Knowledge Sharing Network (IMP-KSN) to share and stay current on best-practices for aircraft carrier specific configuration issues.
  • Interface with all levels of ship’s force and participate in weekly production meetings, Integrated Logistics Support Management Team (ILSMT) and other modernization and maintenance planning briefings.
  • Review Design Service Requests (DSR), Liaison Action Requests (LAR), and Reverse Liaison Action Requests (RLAR), ensuring that all work package job specifications are accurate in accordance with the Planning Yard drawing specifications.
  • Collect maintenance data and conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of systems and equipment for maintainability and supportability.
  • Interact with local and off site customers to understand their logistics distribution networks and determine local resources required to support equipment, safety, personnel and maintenance. Assist in identifying supply sources to meet technical requirements.
  • Input non-APL supported item information that requires provisioning received into the Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS). Provide updated status of PTD request to SRF-JRMC Yokosuka Code 244.3.
  • Create CDMD-OA work files to document equipment installation, coordinating with the Maintenance Support Center (MSC) as required. Provide alteration installation verification report to ship’s force.
  • Perform shipboard equipment validation of all assigned cross-SYSCOM modernization.
  • Develop strong relationships with ship’s force, aiding them in resolving ship configuration issues.
  • Support several configuration management stakeholders to include the ship class Configuration Data Managers, Port Engineers, and various SYSCOM activities.
  • Act as a resource for ship’s force in resolving configuration issues.
  • Read and analyze navy shipboard drawings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chief Petty Officer or above
  • MBPS experience
  • Understanding of Surface Ship Maintenance and Modernization
