Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Within 90 Days
- Prior inpatient experience is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Taking vitals
- Checking blood sugars
- Bed bathing
- Ambulating
- Wound care
- Catheterization
- Acting as a safety attendant for patients
- Collecting and reporting physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families
- Ensuring that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner
- Providing direct patient care under the direction of the RN or Provider
- Providing input in the development of an individualized plan of care
- Articulating the nursing technician role to the patient, family and health team members
- Providing support to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner
- Cleaning patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicating any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel
- Demonstrating a high standard of moral and ethical behavior
- Advocating for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a Nurse Tech is preferred
