Requirements
- Must have a Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner
- Must have a certificate of completion from an approved program for Nurse Practitioners or be eligible to hold national certification
- Must be eligible for licensure as a nurse practitioner in the state of PA
- Must be a graduate of an ARC-approved physician assistant program
- Must be eligible or certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants
- Must be eligible or certified by the State Board of Medicine
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Certified Nurse Practitioner – American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
- Licensed Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – RN_State of Pennsylvania
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat adult cardiac patients referred to the cardiology service
- Demonstrates autonomy through patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care
- Manages and assists in the smooth, efficient operations of the inpatient cardiology patient, outpatient cardiology clinic, cardiac labs and outreach cardiology clinics
- Orders testing as deemed necessary and remains proficient in interpreting results and prescribing appropriate medication regimen within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner
