Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Meets requirements for registry by ARRT
  • Attended an accredited Nuclear Medicine school and/or completed an appropriate training program under the supervision of a Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Director of Radiology or Chief Radiologist
  • Maintains and documents continuing education requirements as required by AART and CNMT
  • Completes age specific education
  • Completion of age specific competency checklist
  • Completes competency requirements as a registered radiologic technologist
  • Maintains department specific educational requirements
  • Current ARRT registry with card on file in Director’s office
  • One year or more as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Adequate capabilities as determined by department administrator

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties in preparing patients for scans of particular organs to furnish diagnostic information
  • Operate radioscopic equipment to produce scanograms and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified body areas
  • Provide appropriate age-specific patient care to neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year or more as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Current NMCTB registry with card on file in Director’s office
