- Required Associate’s Degree Nuclear Medicine Technology
- CRT-Nuc Med Technologist (N) – ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Upon Hire required
- CRT-Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
Responsibilities
- Operates nuclear detection, imaging, and computer processing equipment for nuclear radiologic studies by following professional, hospital and regulatory protocols to provide physicians’ with diagnostic images utilized to identify and/or plan appropriate patient treatment.
- Prepares and administers radioactive agents by adhering to established procedures for preparation of kits and intravenous (IV) injection of agents to ensure accurate diagnostic testing and/or imaging.
- Monitors and records radiation levels in hot lab, scan room, storage areas and patient rooms.
- Maintains imaging, hot lab, radiopharmaceuticals and processing equipment by performing quality control tests and checking equipment performance and quality of agents administered in accordance with department and regulation standards to ensure patient safety.
- Finishes all studies in the computerized medical record system and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in a timely manner.
