Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care. Additional formal education or training in ophthalmology may substitute for some or all of the required experience.
Responsibilities
- Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
- Perform initial patient examinations, ophthalmic testing procedures and routine screening tests.
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
- Document patient information in their medical record.
- Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting in a patient-facing role.
- Prior experience documenting exam findings in Epic.
- Exam workup experience in Ophthalmology.
- Refraction, tonometry, visual field and OCT testing skills.
