Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a newsroom environment with either technical, operational, administrative responsibilities
- Direct experience in the areas of live technology training and management, equipment procurement, and budget and contract experience
- Familiarity with the news production process, logistics, editing systems, ENG/SNG newsgathering, and mobile platforms
- Demonstrated ability to project manage
- Experience with financial projects such as purchasing, CPRs, and capital projects
Responsibilities
- Oversight of the news operations budget including budget forecast and planning, tracking expenses, approving invoices and expense reports, and booking travel and accommodations
- Have an excellent knowledge base on live technology, and a thirst to learn more
- Have a strong skill set in photojournalism too; you will be expected to organize and shoot at live remotes
- Act as a custodian of records for the newsroom including video license requests and video subpoena demands
- Research, purchase, and implement all news gathering equipment including news cameras and equipment, live transmission units, vehicle fleet purchase and maintenance
- Maintain the FCC Quarterly reports and ensure compliance with all FCC requirements
- Able to diagnose and resolve problems with all technical facets of the newsroom
- Effectively communicate with other departments regarding projects and newsroom needs
