Requirements
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Fermentation/Food Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar field preferred.
- Problem-solving skills, results orientation, and commitment to development.
- Able to work in cross-functional teams effectively.
- Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
- Demonstrated taste experience and acuity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including public speaking.
- Willingness to travel.
- Experience in new product development/innovation helpful.
- Flavor application experience.
- Lab instrumentation experience; Anton Paar, Pentair, Steinfurth, Pipettes, etc.
- Familiarity with stage gate process helpful.
- Knowledge of consumer testing techniques/methodologies helpful.
Responsibilities
- Executing the innovation process.
- Supporting new product development through design and production of prototypes as well as lead process improvement efforts within that area.
- Assist project managers with new product development projects.
- Assist in managing sample production/benchtop samples in a fast-paced environment.
- Apply knowledge to monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and/or improve processes.
- Analyze samples using basic lab instrumentation.
- Maintain sample/ingredient inventories and SOPs.
- Manage incoming documentation.
- Promote and encourage safe working practices.
- Gain exposure to senior leaders including formal presentation of projects.
- Coordinating day-to-day responsibilities amongst various team members.
- Assisting with long term growth and sustainability of the lab.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in new product development/innovation helpful.
- Flavor application experience.
- Familiarity with stage gate process helpful.
