Requirements

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Fermentation/Food Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology or similar field preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills, results orientation, and commitment to development.
  • Able to work in cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
  • Demonstrated taste experience and acuity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including public speaking.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Experience in new product development/innovation helpful.
  • Flavor application experience.
  • Lab instrumentation experience; Anton Paar, Pentair, Steinfurth, Pipettes, etc.
  • Familiarity with stage gate process helpful.
  • Knowledge of consumer testing techniques/methodologies helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Executing the innovation process.
  • Supporting new product development through design and production of prototypes as well as lead process improvement efforts within that area.
  • Assist project managers with new product development projects.
  • Assist in managing sample production/benchtop samples in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply knowledge to monitor, analyze, troubleshoot, and/or improve processes.
  • Analyze samples using basic lab instrumentation.
  • Maintain sample/ingredient inventories and SOPs.
  • Manage incoming documentation.
  • Promote and encourage safe working practices.
  • Gain exposure to senior leaders including formal presentation of projects.
  • Coordinating day-to-day responsibilities amongst various team members.
  • Assisting with long term growth and sustainability of the lab.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in new product development/innovation helpful.
  • Flavor application experience.
  • Familiarity with stage gate process helpful.
  • Knowledge of consumer testing techniques/methodologies helpful.
